Assignment: WA1, Draft 1

Assignment: WA1, Draft 1

Q Draft 1: Needs to have: thesis all topic sentences for all body paragraphs body paragraph 1 in full You don't need an intro, conclusion, or all body paragraphs at this time. You will need them before you submit your final draft! Have a copy of this draft open on your device to look at during class on Thursday. In case you haven't already started writing your body paragraphs, here is how to do it: Open your document with your thesis statement, topic sentences, and examples for paragraph. If you do not have a thesis statement, topics sentences, or example make these first before starting to write. Type out the examples. What I mean by this is, go to the book. Type the exact quote you want to use. Make sure to have who says it, reporting language, "quotation marks," and (#). You need 2-3 quotes or evidence from the book for each paragraph. Introduce the context of each quote before the quote. After the quote explain how it proves the topic of the paragraph. Don't summarize or restate the quote. Instead, explain how that specific point prove the argument you are making. Do this for each and every quote in the paragraph. That's it. Now you have a first draft. For this first draft, all you need is (1) a thesis, (2) all topic sentences, (3) the full first body paragraph. However, the more body paragraphs you can do now, the better! Again, you don't need to worry about spelling or grammar on your first draft! However, you do need to worry about getting your idea recorded in written/typed format.
